W Hotel Leicester Square: opening Feb 2011

I was starting to wonder what the large white glass building in Leicester Square was going to become, so was very excited to hear that it is to be the site of the first UK ‘W Hotel’, due to open in February 2011. I always have such fond memories of staying in the New York ‘W’ and look forward to some of that unconventional glamour being transported to central London.

In advance of the opening, the hotel are looking to hireW “Insiders” in an America’s Next Top Model meets The Apprentice style recruitment drive.  Applicants who respond to a number of questions on the W website will be whittled down to a shortlist of seven and invited to attend an event in a secret central London location.

This is where the fun starts: the seven finalists will be posed live tasks by a judging panel composed of Jay Alexander (star of America’s Next Top Model), David Waddington (co-owner of East London restaurant, Bistrotheque) and Libby Sellers (guerrilla design gallery owner).  The winning two applicants will be offered jobs as W Insiders at the new W London Leicester Square.
