LOVEHATS.com launch party, The Arts Club, Dover Street
The Arts Club is one of London’s most fabulous venues, and attracts some of the top people from the creative industries. Famously re-launched last year by Gwyneth Paltrow and the Duke of Edinburgh, the Arts Club was recently the host of the exquisite launch party for new online destination, LOVEHATS.com – the first on-line boutique dedicated to selling high-end millinery.
The night kicked off with an intimate performance from fine purveyors of filthy swing, Top Shelf Jazz, whose inappropriately risqué lyrics got the party of to a flying start. Guests drank Justerini & Brooks 250 champagne and VitaCoco coconut water, and ate Steak tartare on crostini and Tomato and goats cheese tartine.
iPads were set up all around the room, allowing easy access to the LOVEHATS.com site, which allows you to browse and buy the world’s finest millinery. Tapping into the recent re-appreciation of millinery, it offers a one-stop shop for hat lovers across the world.
The site’s standout feature allows you to virtually try each headpiece on by simply uploading a photo. The ‘try it on’ application helps get over the fear of not knowing exactly how a hat will look on you, and has the added bonus of allowing you to sort out your Ascot and wedding season hats from the comfort of your own home. It’s also perfect for sharing images online for that all important second opinion…
At the event I had a chance to meet some of the milliners whose work appears on the site, and try on a couple of hats myself. This wonderful creation I am modelling with Lana is by Olivia Roat, and I think it’s just right for Ascot!
