BlackBerry Collection launch party, Sketch

David Brownlie-Marshall with the Parade girls

Jessie J was the star performer in front of a celeb-packed audience which included TOWIE star Lauren Goodger (who is absolutely stunning in real life) CBB’s Lucien and Bobby and the fabulous girls from Parade (pictured with LDNISTA above), at an event to celebrate the launch of Blackberry’s new phone collection.

Rocking a hot purple catsuit which matched her new hair perfectly, the singer rocked the stage with an acoustic rendition of ‘Do It Like A Dude’ and an unbelievable version of Price Tag which had the whole crowd (including us) dancing.  Sophie and I developed a bit of a crush on her bassist Phil as well…

There was a bittersweet tone to the performance when JJ told the crowd she had to pull out of Katy Perry’s US gig (she’ll be replaced by Ellie Goulding) because the bones in her legs “just aren’t making friends”. She did, however, reveal that if that hadn’t happened, she never would have written ‘Domino’, her strongest song to date in my opinion.

Ridiculously hot cricketers James Anderson, Jade Dernbach and Stuart Broad were also at the party, and LDNISTA, along with London Jewellery designer, Sophie Thomas, embarrased ourselves when we refused to believe that they weren’t in fact aspiring models. Jade bet our combined wealth (a slight imbalance there i’m sure) that he was actually a cricketer for England, so I was inclined to believe him. Perhaps I should brush up on my sports knowledge?

Also present to enjoy tasty cocktails, veggie treats and shoulder massages in the ‘BerryBar’ were Dionne Bromfield, Imogen Thomas and Paloma Faith. A lot of these parties feel like school discos, with so many celeb newcomers on the scene it’s a case of ‘who’s talking to who’ on one hand, but complete freedom on the other. There were not too many egos on show in that room, there was a friendly and collective vibe, which was perfectly accented by Jessie J’s strong empowering lyrics.
